Thank you so much for purchasing a Christmas Meal! It’s time to get your meals prepared!

Prime Rib

For a small Prime Rib, allow up to 3 hours for the entire process.

For a large Prime Rib, allow up to 4 hours for the entire process.

FOR BEST RESULTS HAVE A GOOD KITCHEN THERMOMETER NEARBY

  1. Remove the Prime Rib from the fridge up to an hour before cooking. The goal is to have the meat near room temperature.

  2. Preheat your oven to 300 degrees

  3. Put about 1/4” - 1/2” of water (or beef stock) in the bottom pan

  4. Wrap both Pans in Aluminum Foil

  5. Place in the oven with a 30 minute timer

  6. After 30 Minutes, Remove the pan and check the temperature.

    1. When checking the temperature, place the thermometer in the center of the roast (the edges will be closer to medium well)

    2. For Medium Rare you are looking for 110-115 degrees in the center of the roast. If you are at, or near 110-115 degrees, move to step 8.

    3. Add more water/stock as needed

  7. Place back in the oven, continue to check the temperature every 15 minutes until you have reached 110-115 degrees

  8. When your Prime Rib is at 110-115 degrees, remove the aluminum foil and place back in the oven for 7 more minutes. This will give the Prime Rib a great crust and better coloring. After the 7 minutes, the center of your roast should be at or near 125 degrees.

  9. Remove from the oven and let the roast rest for 20 - 30 minutes for best results.
